Establishment Background

Providing a differentiated educational system reflecting the characteristics of design fields befitting the 21st-century digital culture carries a significant meaning in our reality. To implement such meaningful system, the Kyung Hee University Graduate School of Art Fusion has compressed the concept of fusion demanded by the art and design fields of present and future societies into the curriculum and established a special graduate school offering art and design studies based on the new concept and unique yet comprehensive collaborative research.

Education Goals

The Kyung Hee University Graduate School of Art Fusion offers an education system specializing in on-site task execution in a wide range of culture and art fields including popular art, new media content, and its planning, production, and marketing. Intensive courses in various majors go beyond merely emulating and reproducing existing arts. Designed to respond to the media environment of the new era, they cater to would-be multi-entertainers with creative abilities to produce creative content in the field of popular art such as applied music, theater, film, and musical to become one-person creators and start and operate MCN or multi-channel network firms.

Kyung Hee University pursues the following four education goals

based on the university’s spirit of academy establishment under the philosophy of benefiting mankind and creating a culture world, which is the spirit of Korea’s national foundation:

  1. Whole-Person Education (全人敎育)

    We at Kyung Hee University sublate biased education and nurture whole persons by providing comprehensive education and training based on the philosophy emphasizing the importance of knowledge, morals, and healthy body. The University pursues comprehensive whole-person education, which cultivates analytical intellectuals equipped with virtue, strong willpower, and enterprising spirit.

  2. Emotional Education (精緖敎育)

    We at Kyung Hee University believe that the cultivation of healthy emotions can help create an illuminating society. To implement this goal, the University provides an environment where students can maintain a harmonious relationship with their environment and nature by educating them to have an attitude of loving and living alongside nature and cultivating a beautiful environment.

  3. Science Education (科學敎育)

    We at Kyung Hee University believe that scientific, rational, and organizational ways of thinking can lead people to create a cultural world and enjoy prosperity and happiness. Indeed, science takes up a great portion of our life today, and the remarkable advancement of science and technology is rapidly changing our everyday life. The University offers science education to lead the new era and develop society.

  4. Democracy Education (民主敎育)

    We at Kung Hee University believe that the most ideal and beneficial political ideology is a democracy as proven by man’s history, and that democracy must be practiced in every field of our society. A university is a place for nurturing leaders of our society, and leaders must be familiar with the ideology and life provided by a democratic society. We at Kyung Hee University aim to nurture vanguards of our society that will fully respect the ideology and spirit of democracy and make our society democratic.
